Benzoyl peroxide is a very strong ingredient and a lot of products have it in them just because is it so powerful and effective . The safety of Benzoyl Peroxide is relative . In comparison to stronger formulas like isotretinoin it is harmless but the reality is that Benzoyl Peroxide is a strong medication and should be taken only after you are sure that you can handle the side effects such as:

• excessive or irregular skin dryness – this is the major side effect and it is recommended to use a skin moisturizer .
• severe inflamation and irritation of the mucosa in case comes in touch with it . If it enters your mouth or eyes , rinse with a lots of water!
• skin whitening and hair decoloration(if it comes in contact with it)
