What Causes Acne?
In the world of the acne disorder , doctors and specialists believe that there are four important factors that massively contribute to the acne development and intensification :

Hormones . One factor is the increase in the hormones named androgens . The increase takes place during the puberty of both boys and girls and results in an expansion of the sebaceous glands which now produce more sebum . Pregnancy or quitting on birth control pills can also cause acne because of hormonal changes .

Genetics . The second important factor is heredety or genetics ( the way we were born ). After many studies , researchers believe that people who suffer from acne , can transfer a tendency to this disease to their children . There are many examples when many school-age boys that suffer from acne , have in fact a whole history of this disorder in their families .
Diet . A high glycemin diet which is rich in sweets and sugars have a great impact on our master hormone , the insuline . Because this is our master hormone , it influences all other hormones like the androgens ones , which are said to be responsible for triggering acne . As a guideline you should have more balanced meals with less sugar in them .

Streess . Althought stress does not cause acne it greatly increases acne breakouts . When it occurs , it activates our adrenal gland which in response produces moreandrogens hormones . As we said before , higher level of androgens could cause acne . This cause is more common at women than at men due to the fact that they produce a larger part of their androgens in the adrenal gland .
